Lightning Network: addressing scalability issues not just in Bitcoin

Lightning Network: addressing scalability issues not just in Bitcoin

https://preview.redd.it/sexkmbk9amw31.png?width=745&format=png&auto=webp&s=0aad47d90960a6ae0daba0db9b915e15255d24c9
Lightning Network is probably one of the most anticipated innovations for the Bitcoin blockchain. The idea, which was proposed two years ago by developers Joseph POON and Tajem Driya, to solve the problems of scalability of bitcoin and greatly accelerate the transaction process. This Protocol will allow users to conduct an unlimited number of micropayments outside the blockchain, thereby eliminating the problem of low bandwidth and high commissions in the network. Several companies are working on the implementation of the Lightning Network Protocol, including Block stream, RACING, Lightning Labs, MIT DCI and Bitfury. However, Bitcoin is far from the only blockchain that is developing and working to adapt this innovative technology.

Lightning Network: what is it?

https://preview.redd.it/is22swjnamw31.png?width=1341&format=png&auto=webp&s=af76a04ff9bb5491c99a0231ea8753ef9d249510
Lightning Network technology is an add-on for the Bitcoin blockchain. It will give users the opportunity to conduct an unlimited number of micropayments, which will not be recorded in the blockchain — there is no information about intermediate payments, only the final balance.
At the same time, in Lightning Network there is almost no possibility of theft or loss of money, as well as any manipulation. The user sends the funds along with a conditional obligation to return. Funds are frozen until the receiving party signs an obligation to return. If the second party does not fulfill the terms of the contract, the funds will go back to the sender. In addition, the Protocol can be an alternative for increasing the block in the Bitcoin blockchain. If the add-in is implemented, the low bandwidth of the block will cease to be a problem, because most operations will be carried out in the Lightning Network, without loading the blockchain.
The first alpha release of the Lighting Network Protocol in the Bitcoin blockchain was launched in early 2017. And by January 2018, the company Blockstream, responsible for the implementation of the Protocol, announced that Lighting Network is activated on 60 nodes, is available in Mainnet and works in test mode. At the moment, the network has 6404 nodes and 28141 open channels.
The scalability of the network is a problem faced by developers of many cryptocurrencies. To date, in addition to Bitcoin, Litecoin, Zcash, Ethereum and Ripple are working on the practical implementation of the Protocol or a similar blockchain add-in. Also in late January, it became known about the plans of the developers of Stellar to add Lightning Network to improve the security of the network and increase its bandwidth.
Bitcoin Core developer Jeremy Rubin, and part-time head of the Lightning Network development team at Stellar, is confident that this Protocol is necessary for any payment platform:
"Lightning is perhaps the most important innovative Protocol currently being implemented in the crypto space. When the bitcoin Lightning network is fully launched online, any community that has not prepared its off-chain scalability solution will be left behind and will swallow the dust."

What are atomic swaps and how are they tested?

https://preview.redd.it/kcf90iyhbmw31.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=2cd34ca11d238a0f4e064f1bd0ab88cd43aa9029
The term "atomic" means that the transaction will either take place completely or not at all. That is, if the network node goes offline or one of the participants refuses the deal, both parties will get their money back.
For atomic swaps to work in all blockchains, they need to add Lightning Network. Atomic transactions have been tested inside four blockchains-Litecoin, Decred, Vertcoin and Bitcoin. Litecoin Creator Charlie Lee conducted several transactions-on September 19 between Decred and Litecoin and on September 21 between Litecoin and Vertcoin. On November 16, 2017, he conducted an atomic operation between Litecoin and Bitcoin already in the Lightning Network and spoke about it on Twitter.
"Now that SegWit2x is cancelled and SegWit haters have their own coin to play with, it means we are now starting to act quickly and decisively towards scaling Bitcoin/Litecoin with Lightning Network and other second — tier scaling solutions," Lee commented.
It is planned that, as in the case of the Bitcoin blockchain, Lightning Network will simplify and accelerate the technology of atomic swaps. In the future, this will open the way for the exchange of coins between different blockchains without intermediaries-bypassing exchanges and regulators.

Solutions similar to Lightning Network

https://preview.redd.it/xv0gj6babmw31.png?width=1554&format=png&auto=webp&s=8a0207cd7ac0708a6f39d8a585035187a86774a9
However, not all blockchain projects are interested in implementing Lightning Network in the same format as Bitcoin.
Ethereum developers in December 2017 launched the Raiden project in their network — an off-chain technology of scaling the network, which, like the Lightning Network, ensures the operation of payment channels outside the blockchain. At the same time, the Neo platform team is working on a similar Trinity project. Despite the fact that these projects are running on different code, both have the same goal — to implement a separate network for transactions "over the blockchain".
A group of cryptographers working on the high-privacy cryptocurrency Zcash has proposed a new technology for anonymous crypto payments-the Bolt project. While it is under development, and it is not known when it will be implemented.
At the same time, the developers of some projects believe that the solution to the problem lies in scaling the blockchain at the basic level. So, the grin cryptocurrency, which is scheduled to launch this year, will use complex cryptography in the blockchain in such a way that unnecessary information is "eaten" over time. In the long run, this blockchain will use less space as it grows.
Other teams see the Lightning Network as part of a multi-factor approach to addressing blockchain scaling, which holds many potential opportunities. The stellar roadmap indicates that the cryptocurrency does not need the Lightning Network Protocol, however, this technology will have a huge positive effect on the long-term scalability and reliability of their blockchain network. Ripple technical Director Stefan Thomas also says this, noting that the XPR registry is already more scalable than the bitcoin blockchain. Nevertheless, the team is actively exploring the technology of the second-level payment channel to work with future users.

The Case for XRP in 2018

Cryptocurrencies have grown exponentially not only in price this past year but also in public awareness and popular attention. The novel feeling to an emerging financial and technological market is reminiscent of the rise of the Internet with its innovative potential. In turn, a heightened collective societal awareness of this new innovative potential has led to a change in the nature of the market dynamics of cryptocurrencies. As Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle posits, “The observation of a phenomenon changes the phenomena itself.” The observation of thousands of young millennials, and now middle-aged investors, will only accelerate the rise of cryptocurrencies as times goes on.
Today, we are seeing the real-world effects of a newfound intrigue into cryptocurrencies. This new interest is causing a narrowing of the divergence between truth and fiction over accurate knowledge about cryptocurrencies. The force drawing this gap narrower each day is an increased dissemination of truthful information that has generated legions of individual investors into new cryptocurrency markets; in particular, Ripple’s XRP.
As the public expands its understanding of Ripple’s XRP, the capital inflow from both individual and institutional investors combined will likely grow to levels that will exponentially grow the liquidity of XRP and, as a byproduct, its price.
Here, in this report, I will provide an overview and analysis of Ripple’s XRP and the implications Q4 2017 and the year 2018 and beyond hold for the future of XRP and its price.
THE CONCEPT: WHAT IS XRP?
XRP is the digital asset used by Ripple to offer financial institutions an option for liquidity to conduct cross-border payments. It is predominantly used for Ripple’s solution for the minimization of liquidity costs. In contrast to most other cryptocurrencies, XRP’s application here features a real-world applicability that extends to real-world transactions. It is used for the xRapid solution provided by Ripple, and is the only one of the three solutions Ripple offers (The others are xCurrent and xVia) that employs the use of XRP.
THE RATIONALE: WHY XRP?
There is a myriad of factors that distinguish XRP from other cryptocurrencies and establish it as a forerunner to what may become the dominant cryptocurrencies in the years that lie ahead.
Cost: Comparatively, XRP has the lowest cost per transaction at $0.0004. In contrast, BCH is $0.26, LTC is $0.37, DASH is $0.64, ETH is $0.96, and BTC is $28.23.
Scalability: XRP can handle over 1,500 transactions per second whereas BCH can handle 24 per second, LTC can handle 56 per second, DASH can handle 10 per second, ETH can handle 16 per second, and BTC can handle 24 per second.
Speed: XRP can conduct transactions at a rate of 3 seconds per transaction, BCH at a rate of 58 minutes per transaction, LTC at 17 minutes per transaction, DASH at 15 minutes per transaction, ETH at 2 minutes per transaction, and BTC 1 hour and 6 minutes per transaction.
XRP’s availability is ever-expanding. It is currently available on over 50 exchanges including Bitstamp, Bithumb, Bittrex, Binance, Bitfinex, Kraken, and Poloniex. The volume of XRP availability is, in addition, in an expansionary phase. The primary location of exchange volume is concentrated in Asia; in particular, South Korea. However, as mainstream media attention increases, so will American interest as well. There already have been tell-tale signs indicative in news outlets that have covered Ripple recently in the wake of XRP’s rise in CNBC, Bloomberg, Forbes, Investopedia, and Yahoo Finance.
Simply consider the mania generated by the media attention to Bitcoin. Repetitive news stories featured on CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, CBS, and other mainstream media news outlets. Countless articles disparaging it as a bubble and hailing it as a force that could deconstruct the financial apparatus governed by the Federal Reserve and other central banks. Now, consider the results of media attention directed towards the substantive information behind XRP. Once news segments and articles are shown and written that illustrate the comparative superiority of XRP to other cryptocurrencies, then the viewers and readers will likely flock to XRP in pursuit of acquiring a tried, tested, and proven cryptocurrency with real-world usage.
In turn, a virtuous circle intensifying capital inflow to XRP is predictable and probably to occur. We can expect FOMO to rise and a number of oscillations up and down for the price to unfold. Nevertheless, the price of XRP is bound to not only remain but rather accelerate its demonstrated upwards price trajectory pushing us to new heights.
Additionally, if the collective fear among cryptocurrency investors materializes, that is, if new regulations are imposed on our activities, then Ripple is stand to likely gain. Dr. Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a scholar and risk analyst writes about a concept called “Antifragility.” Antifragility is a term used to describe things that gain from disorder. Considering Ripple’s ties to financial institutions and regulators, it wouldn’t be too far-off to speculate that XRP is positioned to gain if such a black swan event were to occur.
FURTHER REASONS TO ADVANCE THE CASE FOR XRP:
Financial institutions, renown investors, and accomplished financiers have already taken notice of XRP. Former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has advocated on Ripple’s behalf. Zoe Cruz, former president for institutional securities and wealth management at Morgan Stanley and former global head of fixed income, commodities, and foreign exchange has joined Ripple’s Board of Directors. She has been named to Forbes list of Most Powerful Women for three years straight.
Perhaps most notably, a consortium of 61 banks – organized by SBI Ripple Asia – will be adopting Ripple’s technology to settle transactions between its members with the eventual goal of applying XRP to usage. Mr. Yoshitaka Kitao, the CEO, Executive Chairman, and President has publicly stated, “Forget about bitcoin, we’re all in on XRP!” In fact, SBI has already confirmed that XRP will be put in usage in Spring 2018. If successful, expect the price to reflect it.
Moreover, TechCrunch Founder Michael Arrington has, as of November 2017, announced a $100 million XRP hedge fund. His efforts have already raised $50 million which will engender a ripple effect of new large net-worth individual and institutional investors. The entity will be called Arrington XRP Capital and new information about its activities are set to be released in the months that lie ahead.
Also, David Schwartz, Ripple’s Chief Cryptographer, has said that there are two major “household” companies (Not financial institutions) that will be announced in Q4. This is likely to provide a substantial boon to XRP.
Finally, the Chief Technology Officer of Ripple, Stefan Thomas, has said that in 2018 there will be a “big push on XRP.” For years, Ripple has kept a relative silence in expressing the superiority of XRP. 2018 will be different. 2018 is bound to be Ripple’s year. I expect the price to rise as high as $10 and as low as $4.
At any rate, this report only scratches the surface of Ripple and XRP’s potential. For far more nuanced and in-depth analysis and information, I suggest reading from Ripple firsthand at www.ripple.com and perusing the best blog on XRP itself at https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/
To the moon, we go.

OKCoin's response to CZ's lies and desperate nonsense

Introduction
OKCoin would like to state that it wishes the following information did not have to be made public. However, the repeated allegations against the company by Roger Ver and Changpeng Zhao extends beyond a contract dispute. OKCoin must make the following statements to refute the allegations. It is not our intention nor our policy to hurt the careers of former employees nor the reputation of others.
Mr. Roger Ver’s allegations of forgery by Star Xu has already been refuted by Ben D. McGinnes in the conclusions of his report http://okbounty.adversary.org/

Background on Changpeng Zhao’s tenure at OKCoin
To begin, we would like to inform you of Changpeng Zhao’s (CZ) many harmful acts of conduct against OKCoin in the few months he was at the company.

1. On Bitcoin.com, Changpeng Zhao forged an agreement with Roger Ver version 8 (v8)
Changpeng Zhao previously told Roger Ver v8 was forged by Star Xu which has been proven to be false. Changpeng Zhao stated to Coindesk he does not recall a v8 of the Bitcoin.com agreement. OKCoin has publicly released the video taken by the notary public of the QQ chat history on which platform Changpeng Zhao sent v8 to our accountant on December 16th 2014.
Changpeng Zhao also sought to conceal the QQ evidence by deleting the accountant he sent the v8 file to from his contact list on QQ. Changpeng Zhao believed this would prevent access to the chat history by the accountant to prove his sending of v8 on December 16, 2014. The chat history between CZ and our accountant remained accessible by our accountant because the two were in a joint group on QQ. Changpeng Zhao has claimed the screenshot of the QQ conversation is photo-shopped by OKCoin yet as CTO, he was unable to delete the QQ history properly. OKCoin was able to confirm his QQ chat history and released the video of his actions as evidenced by the notary public.
This video will be part of a formal report that we will be releasing this week that will be validated by a notary public.

Summary:
0:00 - Connecting to Notary Public's internet
1:00 - Login to Accountant's QQ account
1:26 - Searches for Former Employee's contact and chat history
1:35 - Chat history and all past attachments that were sent are shown on the right hand side It can be seen here that v7 and v8 of the contracts were sent to the Account (v7 sent on 15:17:24 Dec 16,. 2014 and v8 19:29:47 Dec 16, 2015)
1:55 - Contract v8 opened for examination (This is the version that includes the 6 month termination clause)
2:15 - The 6 month termination clause can be seen on the last line of the contract
2:22 - Contract v7 opened for examination
2:54 - Former Employee's passport opened (censored)
3:02 - Former Employee's public QQ account

2. Changpeng Zhao falsified experience, eventually pushed out by OKCoin
When CZ interviewed at OKCoin, CZ claimed to be an internet technology expert and particularly well versed in building trading systems. He vowed to make a significant contribution to the company. As such OKCoin gave a very high salary and a large amount of equity in hiring CZ and asked CZ to also serve as head of the international business. However, upon arriving at the company, it was evident that CZ did not understand the basics of the technology.
a. When a performance problem occurred in our database, as a ‘CTO’ CZ could only stand by and observe other colleagues analyze and fix the problem.
b. When the company sought to build a FIX API, the company let CZ build it as our other engineers at the time were not experts and left this to CZ due to his claimed proficiency. After a month, there was no progress by CZ and our other engineers spent a few days to write and release FIX.
c. When OKCoin’s matching engine experienced bugs, CZ was unable to improve the matching engine, leaving Star Xu and engineers to design a new version of the matching engine. During this time CZ learned from our engineers on the process, then later claimed to others he was responsible for the development of the new matching engine.
d. CZ as CTO did not contribute to OKCoin a line of code nor solved a technical problem.
After repeatedly founding these problems, CZ was asked to either leave the company or transfer divisions to market the international business. CZ informed the company he would return home to Japan from Beijing where our office is located to consider. CZ returned to inform the company he would leave the company. After leaving, CZ stated to the public that he left citing different directions. The international team that CZ built mostly left the company as well. Under the leadership of our new head of international, our foreign business has achieved significant results and paved new strategies for the company.

3. Changpeng Zhao’s departure from Blockchain.info
During the OKCoin interview with CZ, when asked why he only worked at Blockchain.info for a few months, CZ told the company that new Blockchain.info CEO Peter Smith is a very bad man and he left due to differences in direction with him as well and that he stated that Blockchain.info had a lot of problems. Since then, CZ has also left OKCoin due to differences in direction.

4.Changpeng Zhao refuses to take responsibility for forging Roger Ver’s signature and sending v8 to our accountant over QQ even after the release of the hard evidence QQ video. Nor has Changpeng Zhao taken responsibility for signing the hardcopy agreement of v8
Since being pushed out of OKCoin, CZ has repeatedly created new accounts on Reddit to trash OKCoin. This has been a consistent behavior since his departure. The allegations he makes about the company today under his name, we have reason to believe he's been making for several days with other reddit accounts in hopes OKCoin would cave to public pressure.

5. Bitcoin.com Contract
OKCoin has always had suspicions that CZ betrayed the company. Would you write a contract where the other side could cancel the agreement at anytime while you could only stop the contract after 5 years? Would you put yourself in a position where you provide resources to develop the website to only be taken away by Roger at anytime?

6. CZ's deceitful tactics
After CZ left, he wanted to create an exchange that linked to all exchanges. CZ told OKCoin that BTC China has already agreed to this agreement. Similarily, CZ also went to BTC china and said OKCoin had agreed to the agreement. Later CEO Bobby Lee called Star Xu to find out that neither BTC China nor OKCoin had agreed to the agreement in the first place.

OKCoin’s response to the allegations made by Changpeng Zhao

1. Bots
On OKCoin, there are thousands of bots. There are hundreds of API users in the QQ customer group. OKCoin even offers a paid service to help high frequency traders by setting up co-location for our customers. OKCoin in the testing of server clusters do operate a few bots in order to test the matching engine performance and accuracy. CZ as “CTO” does not even know what is a test cluster, and what is a product cluster.

2. Fake volume
OKCoin does not need to have any fake volume. Our customers run a large amount of bot trading acting as market makers. OKCoin in production environment does not run any bots of its own. Perhaps it is CZ during his time as “CTO” running bots of his own?

3. Stefan Thomas’ Audit
CZ serving as “CTO” does not even understand what an audit is. OKCoin.cn has spot margin trading. The margin of BTC and fiat comes via P2P lending. Due to Chinese laws, OKCoin only allows a few big customers to lend BTC and fiat. However, these customers after lending out the coins can still see the assets in its balance as lent out. However the borrower can sell the coins. As such in order to prevent double counting during the audit, the lender has to be removed in order to conduct a proper audit. CZ does not understand at all why the accounts had to be removed and instead says nonsense.

4. Cold wallet
CZ cannot stop lying. OKCoin’s method of cold wallet storage is detailed here: https://www.okcoin.com/about/security.do

5. Employee / CZ trading on OKCoin
OKCoin does not encourage employees to speculate on Bitcoin. It has always been a stated company policy to not trade on OKCoin. However, our product managers need to understand the process of trading, our customer service is also required to learn how to answer customer questions, and our engineers need to test the accuracy of the code. We created a number of public accounts wherein the company deposits a small amount of funds for these purposes. This is normal. Do employees of Coinbase or Bitfinex not use their own app or product? Those with privileged information at OKCoin absolutely do not trade on that information.
In truth, it is CZ that has been in significant violation of our company accord. Post his departure, it was discovered that his personal account at OKCoin had at various points several millions of CNY on the exchange and traded with frequency. We apologize to our customers for the behavior of our “CTO”.

6. CZ’s request to see bank statements
CZ cannot functionally do the job of a CTO, lied about his experience and the company had prior to his request reached a conclusion to ask for his departure from a significant role. Why would the company show its statements to him?

7. CZ offered to take over Bitcoin.com?
During his departure, CZ mentioned handing over bitcoin.com to him. He did not offer to pay for the domain. If OKCoin is paying $10,000 per month, why should CZ as an ex-employee be managing the domain? If he was intending to pay out of pocket $10,000 per month, he needn’t have asked anyone at OKCoin to take over management. He could have simply asked his friend Roger Ver to terminate the contract with OKCoin with 1-month notice and manage the site thereafter. Why does CZ and OKCoin even need to discuss?

8. CZ owed salary
OKCoin is currently withholding CZ’s January 2015 and February 2015 salary due to the following reasons:
a) We are currently still in the process of transferring CZ’s ownership of our international entities. Once CZ has been removed from all documents, we can release the rest of CZ’s salary.
b) CZ until now, has not returned company property including the MacBook he was given.
c) CZ has not explained his forgery of the v8 contract.
We have already assured CZ that after completion of these three items, the withheld payments would be made in full.
In January 2015 and February 2015, CZ essentially no-showed to work. In our company attendance records, he only came to the office a few days. However, since OKCoin pushed CZ out, OKCoin still agreed to pay his wage for January 2015 and February 2015

9. Allegations of impersonating a lawyer
OKCoin's lawyer Li Ya Jun's contact information can be seen on our website.

10. About the OKCoin Team
It is true that most of OKCoin's old international team has left. However, OKCoin has already recruited a new international team. OKCoin's product and engineering team has always remained stable. CZ attempted to recruit a few of OKCoin's team members but was unsuccessful. This incident was subsequently reported to OKCoin's CEO.
OKCoin has over 100 people and continues to grow. We are always interested in talented and capable people and welcome those to apply and join the team.

11. OKCoin Processes withdrawals 24/7
For anyone in doubt, we are happy to process withdrawal orders for customers at anytime.

We are truly regretful for this incident. OKCoin believes that Bitcoin is a significant invention of our time and we are currently using this technology in our new products. We believe that this technology will be a fundamental force in improving our society. Even if all bitcoin exchange activity happened on the OKCoin platform, it would only be a small part of the greater Bitcoin ecosystem. Our ambition is not limited to our exchange business and we will defend ourselves with any new allegations from CZ. Soon the world shall see OKCoin’s complete vision and products.

Crypto Gang visits Crypto Valley — the Swiss heart of European Blockchain

Crypto Gang visits Crypto Valley — the Swiss heart of European Blockchain
Opening of the Crypto Valley Conference and introduction by Oliver Bussmann, President of Crypto Valley Association, and one of the top blockchain influencers in the world.
Switzerland is Europe’s answer to the Silicone Valley, Malta, and Singapore. The country offers one of the key hubs for crypto technology development. The majority of infrastructure is located in Crypto Valley within a unique district of Zug. It is the mothership for the blockchain ecosystem. A global center where emerging cryptocurrency, blockchain, and other distributed ledger technologies rise. There, they develop in a highly supportive and safe environment.
Getting to Switzerland was a collaboration of our interest with the support and eagerness of our clients. Anton Dyshkant, the business development director at Crypto Gang, traveled to Crypto Valley to meet and cooperate with our existing clients there. He also had a chance to participate at the International Crypto Valley Conference on Blockchain Technology. Below is a summary of highlights Crypto Gang is most excited to share.
The Event
The 2018 International Crypto Valley Conference was organized by Crypto Valley, and took place on June 20–22 of 2018, in Zug. It brought together attendees from America and Europe to discuss state of the art advances within the Blockchain Technology ecosystem.
Opening of the Crypto Valley conference.
We took part in a truly unique experience. The event only hosted 800 attendees all of whom were industry professionals. These individuals are fully committed to developing the blockchain sphere and are active contributors to its progress.
At the pre-event of Crypto Valley conference arranged by Token Foundry. With Olga Feldmeier — CEO of Smart Valor, a former executive of UBS, Barclays Investment Bank, The Boston Consulting Group (BSG), and a well-known influencer in crypto world.
Among the speakers were representatives from such organizations as: Ripple, Microsoft, Cornell University, Swiss Government, UC Berkeley, IBM Research Zurich, Cisco, Eternity, and many others. Everyone was focused on quality networking opportunities. The event hummed with innovation and exuded creativity sparked by international collaboration.
Listed below are a few of the most notable attendees:
Oliver Bussmann — the advisor for top crypto projects (IOTA, Ripple, Shapeshift)
Prof. Dr. Emin Gun Sirer of Cornell University
Stefan Thomas — the inventor of the Interledger Protocol and CTO of Ripple
Dolfi Mueller — the mayor of Zug who vigorously supports the blockchain throughout Switzerland
Daniel Haudenschild — head of Swisscom Blockchain AG
Richard Olsen — CEO of Lykke
With Richard Olsen, founder of Lykke foundation. Crypto Gang is partnering with Swiss-based Lykke providing branding services to its clients. Apart from ICO services, Lykke is a crypto exchange and a digital wallet for crypto currencies and one of the leading service providers in Switzerland.
The conference covered a wide range of topics. It touched on everything from the future of token economy, fintech, and IoT to smart contract security. Some of the other issues discussed included: identity management, shared data, micropayments, and legal aspects of cryptocurrency infrastructure.
It’s impossible not to comment on the impeccable job the Crypto Valley Association did on planning and carrying out this event. They had never hosted a conference of such size and proportions before, and yet everything from the guest list to the numerous satellite subunits were organized perfectly. The satellite element was especially note-worthy as it allowed industry professionals to closely speak with some of the startups and less known companies within the industry.
Together with a great pal, Shay Gammer, co-founder of Montfort Family Office and COO at Fortune Family Office Group based in Geneva.
The Valley of Crypto Opportunities
Crypto Gang came to Zug with intent to visit the cradle of crypto projects in Switzerland. Here, crypto is supported at a state level. Government officials make it a priority to create the best business climate for crypto currency development. Zug is a pretty small and picturesque place with the population of 28,000. Despite its small size, thanks to favorable regulatory framework and taxes, this region in Switzerland is considered to be one of the most interesting places to launch tech and blockchain projects. Not to much surprise, it has already attracted some of the world’s most renowned crypto companies and organisations such as: Ethereum, Monetas, Bitcoin Suisse, Xapo, ShapeShift, ConsenSys, and Tezos.
With Oliver Busman, President of the Crypto Valley Association, CEO and Founder of Bussmann Advisory consultancy firm, in his office.
We were amazed to discover that almost every resident knew about blockchain, crypto, and the conference. Almost everyone we met had opinions and ideas to share regarding their experience with crypto proving just how significant this technology has become for Zug as well as Switzerland as a whole. As crypto evangelists we strongly hope that very soon other countries will reach this level of crypto interest and awareness. We look forward to the time when crypto communication will enter the mainstream culture of every town out there.
Networking and Communication
At the booth of Bitcoin Suisse together with Nicolai Oster, Head of ICO and Partner. Discussing collaborations between our companies on ICOs and blockchain projects.
For everyone in the crypto community such conferences are a good chance to connect with other professionals and enthusiasts within the industry. It is especially valuable for crypto startups and ICOs as they aim to test out elevator speech and product ideas, gathering feedback prior to launch. It also lets companies meet their investors and future supporters. At Crypto Gang we’re constantly encouraging our clients to travel to such events and network.
One of the satellite events of the conference — “ICO investments”, led by Heinrich Zetlmayer, who is the founder and General Partner of the BVV, and former Vice President of IBM. Crypto Gang is partnering with BVV, Heinrich and their great team.
It was a great honor to be one of the few companies from Ukraine to be part of the international dialogue about main points in the modern niches of start-ups. But what’s more important, we had an amazing opportunity to meet some of our partners and discuss our progress. We also fulfilled our goal of connecting and gaining support from some of the key market players interested in further cooperative partnerships. We are excited to share more details about all these points in upcoming releases so please check back for updates.
Together with Dr. Mattia L. Rattaggi, a great person and a blockchain industry professional, who is a Chair Regulatory Policy at Crypto Valley Association and Founder of the blockchain Advisory and Consulting firm named after him.
We also had a pleasure to meet some of our Swiss-based clients and discuss ongoing projects’ activities. We met with Robert Rogenmoser of Securosys. They are based in Zurich and produce hardware and software products that already protect the Swiss Banking System by securing €100 Billion in daily transactions and serving top Swiss financial institutions. We had a chance to discuss their upcoming ICO/ITO project and our progress on designing their ICO/ITO website, whitepaper, and other documents.
With Robert Rogenmoser of Securosys.
Together with one of the conference attendees, Roland Kask, a marketing professional from Estonia.
We stopped by the office of our good partner agency Lykke and their newly opened location in Zug at Alpenstrasse 9 where we met with Michael Guzik, Victor Solomon and others.
We also met Heinrich Zetlmayer and Luigi Bruno along with the team of Blockchain Valley Ventures. BVV is a new accelerator and venture firm that focuses on incubating, developing, and investing in blockchain-enabled businesses. We are currently cooperating on projects together, and were eager to discuss our progress.
With Deyana Nedeva, Head of Investor Relations at BVV.
Overall, it was a great event! At Crypto Gang we strongly encourage everyone to regularly visit collaborative events in their niche to share, connect, and develop. We hope to see you somewhere in the world soon!
